Avery Hillhouse

My name is Avery Hillhouse, and I’m a 16-year-old rider from Durham, North Carolina. I’ve been riding for eight years and am currently training with Lainie Wimberly at Brigadoon Show Stables. I’m actively competing in the 3’3”–3’6” equitation medals and have qualified for both the USHJA Hunter Seat Medal Finals and the NEHC Junior Hunter Seat Medal Finals.

Outside of the ring, I’ve maintained a 3.5 GPA while staying involved in school events such as Foods Around the World Day and Club Fest. Balancing academics and riding has taught me the importance of time management, dedication, and resilience.

I’m looking for a university where I can succeed in my academics and work with a team that feels like home. I’m excited to contribute to a collegiate program and bring the following qualities to the table:
